Conservatory at Biltmore

Love is patient.  Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.  It is not easily angered. It keeps no records of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  1 Corinthians 13    I want to wake up every morning remembering to love like this every day.

Hi Friends,

We made a trip to the Conservatory at Biltmore to see  the model trains and the handmade replicas of the House and other structures.  We went on a day that was very busy and the children (me included) was just mesmerized. I will go back several times before the end of September. My photos do not do justice to this magnificent work of art.

Made of tree limbs, bark, twigs and other wood pieces that I feel sure came from the estate.  There is 800 feet of rails and trains.

The trains made their way through the beautiful tropical plants and other foliage.

This is so masterfully done and the tracks extend high into this beautiful building.

This is a handmade replica of the Biltmore House.  I was able to get a great photo here.  The train makes it rounds around this house but I could not capture that.  I was having to move too quickly.

Is this not just amazing?!

Another view of the house with more detail.  The different species of orchids is just amazing.  My next blog will be about the orchids and other plants.

Look at this waterfall as the train makes its way around.  I had my granddaughter, Maddie, with me.  She helped point out lots of these special spots.
