For Your Journey: “This is the confidence we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” 1 John 5:14
Happy Labor Day Friends,
We have had a few perfect days for dining Al fresco. The temperatures have hovered around the low 70’s and it is nice to set a table outdoors. The sedum are blooming and I thought of this tablecloth with the large cabbage roses. I quickly retrieved it and set a table. I hope you will join me in my garden.
This is probably my favorite table cloth. I love the colors. I bought it at a consignment shop about 15 years ago. The sedum are blooming and they make a perfect background for this table.
The sedum start out green, evolve into a beautiful pink and then turn a beautiful rust color. I have about seven of these but lost a few to a fungus.
Instead of doing a centerpiece, I wanted the sedum to take that role. They match so beautifully.
I used my grapevine wreaths as a foundation for my plate stack, They are woodsy and I just love them. These green dinner plates make a great match to these sweet salad plates. They are called Belize by 222 Fifth. I have had them forever and don’t remember where I bought them. Like the table cloth and me, they are old.
I have this beautiful gold leaf platter so I chose some blooms and leaves from the garden and loosely placed them on the tray.
The wilted sunflower, a few sedum blooms, a purple dahlia, and various other goodies round out this collection of pretties. Yes, wilted sunflowers are very beautiful to me.
This single “parade rose” wanted in on the action so I thought it deserved its own place in this al fresco setting.
Thank you for your visit. May God be with you every moment of your Journey. Always find Joy in the Journey!
Dianne, this is such a lovely setting my friend. How nice to enjoy alfresco dining in your cooler temps. I love the vintage tablecloth and your pretties on top. Have a joy-filled day!
