“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Maya Angelou
Hi friends,
I admit I have been chasing butterflies even though I realize if I just quietly tend my garden I am most likely to have them join me in the garden. They have been more scarce this year and the monarchs have totally eluded me. I have had some sweet moments this year. When preparing for my last tablescape with zinnia centerpieces, I had a swallowtail join me at the table. Let’s chase butterflies and bears……
“Don’t waste your time chasing butterflies. Mend your garden, and the butterflies will come.” Maeio Quintana
Happiness is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it will elude you. But if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.
I am so grateful for this day. I was preparing a table and this beautiful swallowtail joined me,
Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over….it became a butterfly.
And out of nowhere, I had another visitor….
This is a beautiful visitor that frequents our neighborhood. We have had to take down our bird feeders. On this day, in broad daylight, he was just passing through. He trampled some of my flowers.
In contrast to the butterflies, I was chasing him away.
“Butterflies…flowers that fly and all but sing” -Robert Frost
Thank you for your visit.
Butterflies have not been as plentiful this year. My garden is usually full of them. Dianne, the bear would so frighten me. Be careful my friend!
