August 2020

God is God.  He loves us.  We are not adrift in chaos.  To me that is the most fortifying, the most stabilizing, the most peace-giving thing that I know anything about in the universe.  Every time things change in my life, I go back to the things that do not change.  God is God.  He loves me. I am not adrift in chaos.

Hi Friends,

August?  Is it really August?  “The brilliant poppy flaunts her head amidst the ripening grain, and adds her voice to sell the song that August is here again. “(Helen Winslow)  The temperatures and humidity have been really high here and then the storms and flooding have been close behind. I caught a few moments to set a table on the back porch.  The pitcher and bowls with poppies are reminiscent of the flowers we see this time of year.

I started with my green and white tablecloth that is very summery.

The pitcher and bowls are Certified International called Country Fresh.

I have enjoyed these aqua plates over the years and use them in many tablescapes (it may be because I love this color so much).  This same blue is  in the center of each bowl.

These green napkins are almost a perfect match to my tablecloth.

Simple flatwear and very old tea glasses finish this look.

I tried to find poppies but could not find them so I have used colors that compliment the bowls and pitcher.

You can see that my sedum are really coming along and I will soon have beautiful color from them.

The pitcher and salad bowls were a find at Tuesday Morning.

Thank you for your visit.

  1. Dianne, what a beautifully presented table with the background of your garden. The pitcher and bowls are a great find. I am sad that our Tuesday Morning closed last week. I always found something when I went. It would be a pleasure to join you at your lovely table. Wishing you a delightful Tuesday my friend!

  2. Thank you my beautiful friend. I did not get notification yesterday or today for your post. I signed up again.
