Summer is a state of mind

I want to spread the feeling of  JOY that summer gives to us!   Dianne

Hi friends,

It is full blown summer here in the mountains.  The temperatures are high and very little breeze.  I remember the summers of my youth.  I was so excited for the last day of school, bare feet, gentle moments, and what a wonderful state of mind. I seem to connect with these cooler colors in the heat of summer. I have created a table on my back porch.  Hope you will enjoy sitting with me and enjoy a gentle moment or two.

This is Maddie’s quilt when she stays with me.  Makes a wonderful tablecloth.

I could not resist including this photo when I saw the angel in the background.

These rabbits were a gift to me from Bob about three years ago.  They carry all kinds of things in their little basket.  Today it is simple sweet potato vine with a pink rose.

Hanging above my table is my beautiful compact rose.  Blends beautifully with the table.

Aqua blue plates with pink bowls looked really pretty with this table covering.  They also work well for our dinner of salmon, potatoes, asparagus and a bowl of cantaloupe and strawberries.

These cute little Italian stems finish the look as well as my gold flatwear.

These are little hand towels I am using as napkins…perfect with my colors and I love this texture with the quilt.

Sweet, Sweet Summertime!

A watering can from my friend and a kitchen towel that I love.  They have a beautiful spot on my table.  These are the little joys that bring a smile to us remembering the special day they were received.

  1. Dianne, what a lovely and perfect state of mind table. I love the quilt as the table covering. I also love that you always include gifts from friends and those precious pieces left by your beloved mother. Try to stay cool in this oppressive heat. Have a blessed Sunday!
