“Give me a hymn, give me a word softly spoken that turns away wrath, give me something beautiful to look at, give me a precious story that lightens my heart, give me the face of a grandchild or a beloved pet, so I can live these days with more courage, more sweetness, more JOY. Let the name of the Lord be praised! Lord, give me ears to hear, eyes to see, and a heart to recognize You during the chaos. Let Your name be praised always from my lips.–Dianne Sharpe
Hi friends,
A day or so ago, I set up a table outside. It is raining here today and rain is forecasted for days. Hope you enjoy this simple tablescape…a little tea party..
It is such a JOY to set up a table in the garden, Sunshine always lifts my spirit.
This tall vase came from BB Barns several years ago. It is filled with flowers that look pretty with the tablecloth. The sweet swan I named “Sweet Grace”. Swans are so graceful. Today she graces my table and my home every day. She reminds me that grace is something we all need and we all need to extend to others.
Jennifer gave me this yellow watering can. Love the butterfly spout.
These are Mother’s sweet little plates that she used all the time. Just love them! I am sure I had them in mind when I saw the tablecloth.
I use these Kate Spade napkins often and these napkin rings came from Pier I many many years ago. They speak sunshine to me.
The peonies are blooming.
This tablecloth is by Cynthia Rowley found at Homegoods years ago. I am really missing my trips to Homegoods.
One of my Biltmore teas will be served in these cups.
This face is total JOY to me. My granddaughter, Maddie, loves the garden and looks like a butterfly.
Let the name of the Lord be praised!
How lovely, Dianne! Your garden is pure bliss. I love the graceful swan and your beautiful floral arrangement. How special to have your mother’s plates. They look beautiful with your tablecloth. And the watering can is adorable as it your pretty granddaughter.
Sunshine lift my spirits too. I love your quote at the beginning of this post.
Have a lovely week.
Good morning Dianne. Your table is beautiful set in your splendid garden. The floral tablecloth, your mom’s plates, the graceful swan, the cute watering can all come together for a delightful table. The prettiest flower in the garden is Maddie and her outfit is adorable. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents my friend!
