“Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with Joyful songs.” Psalm 100:2
In the last couple of months, my mornings have become more like a ritual. The first things I reach for most mornings are my phone and my coffee. Sitting on the table beside my chair is a copy of “Jesus Calling” and the latest Journey sent to me for years from my beautiful friend Anita who lives in Tennessee. I read from both of these and listen to some old hymns. These few things seem to prepare my soul for a day of JOY. I have created a tablescape that I hope you might enjoy.
I am on my back porch today and I have chosen these sweet bluebird plates for the table. These were a gift from Bob about four years ago. I have used a pretty yellow dinner plate.
My centerpiece is a rabbit carrying a pretty bouquet of roses. These faux roses were a gift to Mother from my friend Carolyn. I am having difficulty getting real flowers as Trader Joe’s is always so busy and wound around the building.
The bowl of strawberries look pretty as there are strawberries on the tablecloth.
The napkins are a combination of dark pink and coral (Kate Spade I think). I use them with so many tables because they are so versatile.
These strawberries didn’t last long. They went into a strawberry cobbler that Bob and I really loved (a little whipped cream on top).
These sweet plates are very good quality. Bob found them at Cracker Barrel. The simple flatwear is what I use all the time.
Isn’t this a sweet tablecloth with the birds, flowers, strawberries and its vivid colors. I added another little bouquet.
A little surprise to me…I came inside and I saw it from another view..through my kitchen window.
“Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of Love, Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, Opening to the sun above.”
I love how the Lord pursues us in word and song and the beauty of His amazing creation.
