Morning Songs

Behold the fowls of the air;  for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feedeth them.     Matthew 6:26

Hi friends,

I am greeted each morning by a mourning dove and her many winged friends.  The mourning dove has a very sad mourning sound but the knowledge that they bring peace and safety is very reassuring.  I am so blessed with all these visitors.  They provide music to my ears, beauty to my eyes and JOY to my heart.

The mournful cooing of the mourning dove is one of the most familiar bird sounds. They represent peace and safety.  They are said to encourage healing.

Signs and messages are all around us.  Many of them are subtle and difficult to interpret but receiving a visit from a cardinal is almost an event.  They are beautiful songbirds and they might be delivering an important message, one that is  just for you.

The female Grosbeak showed up for the first time this morning.

The male rose breasted Grosbeak is so beautiful.  The Grosbeaks are in migration further north for breeding.  I am so fortunate they stop at my address for a big meal before heading further north.

The yellow finches are everywhere.  Their bright beautiful color is amazing against the evergreen background.

The great-tailed Grackle made an appearance this morning for the first time.  Word must be getting around.

The message of peace, safety and promise has been delivered to me today by God’s winged creatures.  What a JOY. What a CREATOR!

  1. Good morning Dianne. Is there anything more peaceful than an early morning sitting outside with birdsong? I love the captures of the birds that are visiting with you. The yellow finches are particularly lovely and of course, the male cardinal is so striking. Most mornings as I sit outside, it sounds like a bird symphony! Wishing you a most delightful day!
