Late Summer Garden

“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in–what more could he ask?  A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.”   Voltaire

Hi Friends:

Despite temperatures in the 90’s for weeks, my garden and I have survived.  I went a day or so without watering and lost some of my fill in fall plants.  We did put down new straw which gave it a lift and cut back spring flowers.  It still delights me as I watch the hummingbirds, butterflies and other birds enjoying the garden. Walk with me in my garden.  Mother used to want me to walk with her in her gardens and point out each individual bloom.  Yes, I have become my Mother.

Sometimes I go to the nail salon apologetic for how my nails  look from the last visit.  It is because I have been digging in the dirt.

  1. Dianne, your garden looks healthy in spite of the heat! The star is your beautiful Maddie, she has grown so much. Grandchildren are a lovely reward as we get older. Thank you for sharing your stunning blooms and Happy Gardening my friend!
