My blog today is dedicated to my beautiful sister-in-law, Dora. Today is her birthday and her favorite flower is the tulip. They symbolize perfect love. What better way for me to express my profound admiration and love for this wonderful person.
Bob and I were in Gainesville, Georgia this weekend for the John Hunter Regatta at Georgia Tech (Lake Lanier). Our grandson, Davis, is an accomplished rower and walked away with gold and silver medals. While there, I ask Bob if I could please go to the Gainesville Botantical Garden on Saturday. Oh, my, the tulips and this extraordinary garden! It was a tiered garden with a water feature or stream that you walked over to get to each section of the gardens. So beautiful. They had a huge amphitheater that I could not photograph. Much too large for me to photograph. They also had a wonderful playground for children. I thought of Dora during my visit here. I wish you could have been with me.
For Dora……
Tulips are the most colorful of all spring flowers. They are so beautiful they inspire many gardener’s creativity.
Whether planted in groups of 10, 100 or 1,000, tulips always put on an impressive show.
Breathtakingly beautiful!
The meaning of tulips is generally perfect love. Different colors carry their own significance, For instance, red is associated with true love; purple symbolizes royalty.
A little train ran through the property that was fascinating to me.
From this vantage point, you can see the tiers and walkway across each one. I wish I could provide the sound of the flowing water over the rocks.
Dora, Happy Birthday. Thank you for who you are. May God’s richest blessings be yours. You sure do enrich the lives of all of us around you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Dianne
