Chihuly at Biltmore

Hi Friends,

Bob and I made another little visit to Biltmore…our second home!  I am joining Pam Richardson and Gardens Galore today.  Biltmore is featuring an exhibition called Chihuly at Biltmore.  This represents the first art exhibition in Biltmore’s historic gardens and the first of Chihuly’s works in North Carolina. I was prepared to be WOWed but that is an understatement. Dale Chihuly is an amazing artist.  Each piece is a  marvel of color, form and light. I was not able to get all of them.  There was a total of sixteen.  I invite you to come along with me….

There were thousands joining us so there will be spectators in all my photos.

Just had to include a view of this spectacular house as I saw it today. Blue skies with a few cumulus clouds.  Heading toward the Italian Garden…

Thank you Biltmore.  It has taken Biltmore nearly two years of preparation to host this monumental exhibition. Breathtaking in an equally breathtaking setting.   Be back very soon Biltmore.

May all your days be as wonderful as this day was for us!

  1. Touring the Biltmore is wonderful but with gorgeous art sculpture added was quite a treat. I can’t image how they transport these works of art.
Thank you for sharing this beauty today.

    1. Thank you Bonnie. I believe they transport in pieces and put them together on location. They light up at night and an evening visit is probably the best. Blessings

  2. Thank you Christine. These light up so an evening visit would probably be magical. Will go back for that. Thanks for your visit.

  3. Dianne, this was absolutely gorgeous. I know seeing it first hand must have been spectacular. The Biltmore is a special place to us and so many others who have been blessed to visit. I especially love it at Christmas. The entire region is such beauty !

    A lovely, lovely post!

  4. Sandra, thank you. As you know, it is difficult to capture all this beauty. These pieces light up so the best viewing is near dusk. Thank you so much Sandra.

  5. All of the photos are are “over the top” and you have done an amazing work to capture them. All this color from Chihuly makes Biltmore POP! And the fish colors blend right in.

  6. Thank you Connie. This Exhibit is really beautiful. Of course, the natural beauty of this place just adds to the beauty. It’s hard to do justice to this amazing place as you well know. Let’s plan to go soon and have lunch at Deerpark. I guess that would have to be a Friday or Saturday. Thank you for your enduring friendship.

  7. Dianne, I have been anticipating seeing your post all day! You did a magnificent job of capturing Chihuly’s art! I had been thinking Butch and I should go before the exhibit closes. We first saw his work at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Two years ago we visited his museum and gardens in Seattle. I will send you the link so you can see it. Thank you for sharing this amazing artist’s work with Gardens Galore!

    1. Thank you Pam. I had never seen Chihuly’s work except in pictures. It truly is amazing. This exhibit runs through the first of October. Please send me the link that you mentioned. I really enjoyed seeing most of the gardens. All very beautiful and creative. Thank you so much Pam for hosting Gardens Galore. Much love.

    1. Thank you Carole. You must see this if you are only 30 minutes away. I appreciate your stopping by to visit. Glad to hear from another Carolina girl.
