Dining al fresco with lots of color

“When the world around us staggers from lack of direction, God offers purpose , hope and certainty.” – Gloria Gaither

Hi Friends,

One of the delights of summer is enjoying blissful days outdoors.  I have come to enjoy the enduring happiness that the love of a garden gives.  Today my tablescape is featured amid evergreens and under my Cinderella arbor.

I have used a large floral cloth with large pink blossoms.  It speaks of summer and we are certainly having summer temperatures.

I used a large planter filled with colors that coordinate with the tablecloth.

I also used my yellow plates to coordinate with the planter.

In a few months, the sedum should be beautiful.

  1. This scene is Peaceful Bliss…..the beauty of pink and yellow amongst evergreens! Oh me, your Sedum is certainly thriving. Just one of my favorites. And your feathered friends knew when to drop by for a table perfectly set. We are grateful they love being a part of the show.

  2. Dianne, what a magical setting under the Cinderella arbor. The tablecloth is exquisite! Is it new? I love all of your tablescapes, but this might be my very favorite! I would enjoy sitting in this beautiful spot and sipping iced tea. Wishing you a joy-filled Tuesday sweet friend!

  3. I certainly wish you were here sipping tea with me. So behind on everything. I took several hours yesterday at Biltmore photographing the Chihuly exhibit in the gardens. Wanted to have these for Gardens Galore. This is one of my sweeter tables because of this floral throw. I saw one of April Cornell’s large floral cloths in Southern Lady or Victoria and I was smitten by these large blooms. Thank you my friend.

  4. “Cinderella arbor.” Ooooohhhh…I like that name, and it’s aptly applied! Such a pretty setting under that arbor with my favorite color: pink! I love the boldness of the print on the tablecloth!!! That really stands out! I really, REALLY like it!!!!!!!!! The pale yellow plates work beautifully against the pink & white palette of the tablecloth. Just lovely! Cinderella worthy!!! 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!

  5. Thank you my friend. I have seen you use black and pink together beautifully. Your sweet comments mean a lot.

  6. Oh, Dianne, your garden is beautiful. I am a bit envious of your shade and how wonderful it must be for outdoor dining. Your tablecloth is so pretty and I do love the colors. I could be happy at your lovely table for hours, enjoying the beauty and your sweet goldfinch. They don’t seem to arrive in our area until late summer.

I have truly enjoyed by visit !

    1. Sandra, thank you for your visit and sweet comments. I have had such wonderful bird visits this year. Have a wonderful day.

  7. Just beautiful! I love your Cinderella arbor as a feature in your garden and what a perfect spot to dine. I’m always happy to see the goldfinches stop by for a visit at the feeders or birdbath.:)

    1. Mary, I am so grateful for your sweet comments. I have been following you for so long and you have been quite the inspiration! I also had an indigo bunting this year.

  8. Such a lovely setting, Dianne. That tablecloth is beautiful. Just love the colors and design. You have styled it perfectly. Your fence and arbor sets your table off with lush greenery as a backdrop.
I would love to be sitting there with you. We could talk for hours.
