Hi Friends,
My friend, Connie, gave me this wonderful book entitled “A Place to Call Home” by James T. Farmer, III. His work respects Southern heritage and also freshens the look for the present day. The result is effortless elegance, comfort and harmony. In his words, he fell in love with a career of making houses into homes. Today I am using this book as a prop and also using the title as my theme. There really is no place like home. To me home means a place where LOVE abides in abundance. Yes, we want our homes to be sufficient to meet our needs for shelter, food and comfort, but the greatest of these is love where our hearts take rest.
My centerpiece is part real flowers and some lovely faux flowers for the pitcher. I love using greenery as a runner for my table and do so often.
This book is usually on my coffee table and I opened it at Christmas to this page. Beautiful.
Using my blush plates again. I found them at Marshall’s some time ago for practically nothing and boy have they found a home here.
The place mats and napkins are by Envogue from HomeGoods.
These are glasses that Hazel, my beautiful MIL, gave me. I miss her so much. She raised a fine man and she treated me like a daughter. I could see Jesus in her eyes. We would hold hands and she would talk about her love of our Lord. She resides in her Heavenly Home now.
This vase with the roses belonged to Mother. I miss her terribly. She left a legacy for Gordon and me that will last forever. Also at Home with the Lord.
Egg dish belonged to Mother. Will make Bob some deviled eggs..he loves them!
These rabbits on the place mats and napkins are insanely cute. Some of them look like the intellectual type and others like me, surrounding themselves with flowers. All in all, they have found a home where they will be displayed and loved a lot.
