“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love…share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:10,13
When I hear the word hospitality, I think about my Mother and Dad. Hospitality seeks to minister. Their home was a place where others felt free to put their feet up and lay their worries down….a place to be refreshed. I really hope to embody the qualities I saw in my Mother. Her guests were happy to have a bowl of soup and a piece of her warm cornbread and she always had some home baked dessert.
I think after the holidays most of us are somewhat exhausted and need to be refreshed. This offers us a great opportunity to invite our friends to sit by the fire and enjoy a home cooked meal and relax. I think homemade soup and cornbread fits the bill. I really do think January is a wonderful time to do this.
This is my favorite china…..”Edme Posy” by Wedgewood. Welcome to my table.
I have used these beautiful napkins from Pier I that compliment the plates.
Just a little arrangement I put together that keeps the color scheme going.
Green place mats and Mikasa stemware.
A lot of candlelight.
Thank you for your visit.
