Better Homes

There are very few things that have such an impact on our happiness, depth and joy in life as the friendships we have. – Dianne

Last year at this time when things were difficult, Connie emailed me a picture of this  tree with rabbit plate, a little deer plate with a cardinal, and a Santa plate that she had found at Walmart.  My eyes lit up at this tree and rabbit like nothing else could have done. I even had the audacity to ask her if she got me some.  Can you believe such a thing?  In her so very tactful way, she answered that she had some for me and that she was going to share some of her extras with me.  Well to this day I don’t really know if she had bought extra but the only day I was home in that two week period, they arrived at my door.  I think most of us blogging own these plates and love them so.  Mine have a story that will remain in my memory forever.  I know you all have friends like Connie.  What a blessing! And she is the reason I have these plates.

This rabbit has been on my porch getting cold.  Thought he looked just right.  He has a little sparkle to him.

  1. Lasting Friendship…the hallmark of a life well lived! It’s wonderful that you have a friend like that who knows just how to touch your heart. Every time you use those plates – whether it’s next year or 20 years from now – you will think of their genesis and your dear friend Connie. When I’m sick or ticked off, I like to use dishes that have meaning for me. They make me think of happier times. I know these will work that kind of magic for you, too. I missed out on the excitement over these dishes last year as I was recovering from surgery, but I picked right up on them when they were re-released this season! I took a set of the salad plates to a fellow blogger whose home I visited a couple of weeks ago as a hostess gift. I hope that whenever she uses them in the future she will think of me. 🙂 Beautiful table, and PEFECT to add that bunny figurine!!!

  2. Alycia, you are a really talented person and you have a gift with words. I am so glad I have gotten to know you in this special way. Are you doing ok? I thought I picked up on someone asking about your surgery again. Thank you for your wonderful support and thank you for your sweet comments.

  3. What a sweet story about your friend, Connie. Dianne, thank you for your visit today! I love your tablescape with the sweet plates with a tree and a rabbit. The scalloped edges and greenery along the edge are so pretty. I love how you styled your centerpiece with greenery and your rabbit.

  5. Good morning precious friend. You are such a blessing. Your encouragement means more than you will ever know. Have a blessed day.

  6. Oh yes, Dianne these salad plates brought MUCH JOY to both of us. You were with Bob’s mother holding her hand, feeding her and all that goes with loving and nurturing some one so dear to you in her last days. And the one night you came home to rest I had to deliver this Joy to you “no matter what! ” The excitement you relayed to me was a child on Christmas morning………and we both felt that. Doesn’t it make us so happy when we know we have brought Joy to a loved one? Ah yes……even a stranger. A precious time in our memory bank.

    1. Your comments made me very tear eyed. You are such an amazing friend. I was indeed like a child on Christmas morning. An unforgettable memory.
