“In everything give thanks.” 1 Thess. 5:18
Good morning friends,
The first thing Bob said to me this morning was “Can you believe it is September 1st?” Yes, Yes I can and I love it! Autumn is here and the leaves turn to orange, yellow, crimson, scarlet and all the flaming colors of fall. We head to the apple orchards and the pumpkin patch. We sip apple cider under a crisp blue sky. It is time for the harvest. We count our bountiful blessings. Football season is here and both our teams open on Saturday. Welcome September! My tablescape honors the apple season.

The NC Apple Festival is held annually over Labor Day weekend in our neighboring county- Hendersonville, NC. This premiere family festival is a 70 year tradition. When my daughter was a little girl, she rode in this parade several times. I do plan to go for a while.
I have had this centerpiece forever it seems. I picked it up at a consignment shop. Fresh apples is all that is new at this table. I do like how these old Waverly napkins look with all this.
We moved the trellis where we took down the tree and it has given me a nice place for outdoor tablescapes. Look at my sedum and Bob did a wonderful job with pinestraw.
I am using my gold chargers, green plates, extra greenery for the outdoor feel and gala apples. There is nothing quite like fresh produce to put the finishing touch on the table.
I did this for my dining room table using one single apple and flowers and twigs.
And now, strike up the band and take the field. We are ready for some football!
Cocky and Ramsees will be ready come Saturday. SC plays NC State. Look out NC State. South Carolina has some great new talent on offense. Go Gamecocks!
North Carolina plays California. We love Game Day. We get an early start listening to Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso, Chris Fowler and all their guests. We have the napkins, usually layered dip, wings, and other fun treats.
Then just before Sunday School, we have a little recap—-one serious Alabama fan, an Old Miss fan, South Carolina, Clemson, and a host of others. Of course, we NC fans seem to be in the majority but never too much to crow about. Go Heels!!!! You are my team!
