Joy of Freedom

“For you have been called to live in freedom.  Use your freedom to serve one another in love.”  Galatians 5:13

Freedom on my mind……this is a very strong call for all of us ..to serve one another in love.  The Word of God from Galations

We are experiencing the refreshment of a passing rain. It rained here last night and off and on today.  I have worked on my Freedom tablescape off and on between little showers and mist of rain.

The table is set….I am using patriotic colors to celebrate the 4th of July.IMG_1475.JPGIMG_1481.JPGIMG_1459

I love sailing and it was no surprise to Bob when I came home with this Tommy Bahama tablecloth with sailboats that was marked down to $12 at HomeGoods.  It goes with my red, white and blue freedom tablescape. These blue and white striped napkins by KAF/HOME look beautiful with this cloth, and, of course, a flag at each plate.  Maddie keeps running away with my flags so I am not sure if they are all here.  The stems are Qualia.

I am using my red stoneware for my plates….the red looks good with the sailboats.

All the table embellishments were gifts from Connie…the citrus candles, the flags, and most of the other table embellishments.  Thank you Connie.

July 4, 1776-the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress.  Freedom is a precious gift.

The centerpiece is a combination of flags, and other memorabilia placed in Mother’s pitcher.  The treasures that matter most are stored in our hearts.

Thank you for sitting at my table.  Dianne

  1. Your back porch beckons an invitation for you to sit a spell on this humid day. Just love your patriotic theme with a splash of nautical……perfect! And I am interested in the set of Blue books. How appropriate the 1776 Eagle to be rested on these. Love your gold flat ware with these colors. Remembering the precious voice singing “The Grand Ole Flag” AND didn’t miss a beat!
    Happy 4th weekend to All

  2. Connie,
I love that Maddie loves these flags and yes I remember her singing this to you over the phone. Thank you for your constant encouragement for this blog. Bob and I are anxious for your tuna salad and a visit from you..not in that order however.
