Home sweet home…..the Mountains of Western North Carolina. A new view from my porch.
My friends, come stay awhile. The garden beckons…
An assortment of heirloom treasures…quilt made by the loving hands of my Mother and one of her favorite chairs. There is a garden in every childhood….an enchanted place!
My old galvanized watering can holds these perfect antique hydrangeas. Love this!
This little angel gives me such joy. I have had to re-antique him several times.
I love weathered objects….

An idyllic afternoon….
Our sanctuary….The trees offer a shady canopy. This old glider belonged to Mother. Bob and I painted it. The vintage design adds rustic charm to the sanctuary.
The dance of the flowers…..stresses of the world go away and I savor the splendor of the moment.
The hummingbirds love the salvia (also known as “hot lips”).
Hushed serenity..
The sound of my granddaughter’s laughter floating up from the garden, butterflies fluttering, hummingbirds humming, a bird symphony, and the waltz of the flowers offer hushed serenity to my soul.
Two of these..I am hopeful the sweet potato vine will grow quickly and make a nice show soon.
I have a lot of mismatched garden accents but sometimes the associations are filled with unexpected joy.
