“Spring being a tough act to follow, God created June.” – Al Bernstein
June is a busy month…graduations, weddings, vacations…lots to do to prepare for summer.
Today’s tablescape begins with this little Victorian vase that belonged to Mother. God has blessed my garden and I found some roses, lavender and day lilies that fit perfectly in this vase.
I love all the elements in building a tablescape. I find inspiration usually from something in the garden or an item that belonged to Mother or something a friend has given me. It is definitely inspired by a joyful memory or a part of God’s amazing Creation.
I love all the elements of building a tablescape…..I have these beautiful salad plates that Bob gave me for Christmas three years ago. The bluebird is my favorite bird. They are very family oriented. We put up a box this year but they did not nest. Maybe next year.
The yellow flowers in the salad plate speak of June flowers and everything happy.
The pop of of deep pink roses adds to the summer palette. You see I made a change from tablecloth to placemats. I love the look of wood. Makes a better home for these beautiful birds.
I took some faux stems of yellow and blue and added flowers from the garden and made a burlap bow.
I love burlap for both formal and informal tables.
The water pitcher was also Mother’s. Love the blue and yellow birds with this place setting. Pulls all this together.
The blue gingham napkins feels right at home with these colors. I love gingham…Mother used to make me dresses made of gingham….exceptionally soft and comfortable.
“Mine is the month of Roses; yes, and mine the Month of Marriages! All pleasant sights and scents, the fragrance of of the blooming vine….I am the fairest daughter of the year.” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
May God bless all of you. Let’s enjoy this beautiful month…the fairest daughter of the year. Happy Monday! Dianne
